The excitement of getting her very own cell phone came to a disturbing end for one teen, when she accidentally broke the screen and opened up a much bigger issue. After the device split to pieces, she noticed something amiss within the phone, and the teen began screaming as soon as she saw it.
Carlene Walsh promised her daughter a phone so long as she earned it. After accomplishing everything she needed to do to prove to her mother that she’s responsible, the 15-year-old got the one item she had been begging to get for years. However, her days of texting and hours of scrolling social media came to an abrupt end in a single drop.
The screen on her Sony Ericsson cracked to pieces, and she plugged it in to salvage what she could. That’s when something unnerving popped up that she would have never known was there, but it was on the phone she bought as new the entire time. Walsh said that her daughter hadn’t plugged her phone into a computer until now, only charging it before in a standard outlet. Images were stored on it, programmed in a way that could only be seen from a computer, rather than on the actual device.
Walsh’s daughter was in her bedroom when the mother heard her scream. “My daughter screamed, so I legged it up the stairs thinking the house was on fire. Then she showed me the pictures,” the mother said. To her horror, pornographic photos of middle-aged men and women were front and center on her teen’s computer.
“They are horrible, they are absolutely disgusting. And they are dated back to 2013, before she ever had the phone,” Walsh, who is in the UK, told the Liverpool Echo. “She won’t even use that phone now. I have had to go out and buy her a new one because she won’t touch it.”
