The words people used to shame others are shrinking to but a few now. Homophobic, Racist, and Bigot are the three biggies. But now there is a new phrase popping up, and it is an oldie but a goodie. It is called common sense. A federal judge on Sunday blocked the Obama administration’s directive that school children be allowed to use bathrooms and other facilities that align with their gender identity regardless of biological gender. When and how did we reach a point in the Washinton beltway, that what a person thinks they are takes precedent over what they actually are?
“We will not yield to blackmail from the president of the United States,” Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said in response to the order. “This goes against the values of so many people.”The other states involved are Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin.Other states last month launched a similar suit to stop the new bathroom policy in public schools. They are: Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
There is much playing out in this debate, a small percentage want a nation to accept their personal wants, which is wrong on many levels. We can call it selfish, a disease , or a mental disorder, but the bottom line is it opens the door at many levels to subject our defenseless to a deviant society that prays on the weak.
