“When the Army looks to the future, it sees cities. Dense, sprawling, congested cities where criminal and extremist groups flourish almost undetected by authorities, but who can influence the lives of the population while undermining the authority of the state.” Army Times

In what can only be described as startling, an article written by the Army Times describes a fundamental tactical shift in the military to focusing on urban combat in mega cities. This article paints a picture of how economic and political dissent in large cities seem to be the new threats that the U.S. and other western powers will be facing in the future. It doesn’t take a genius to make the connection between the mass purchase of ammunition by Homeland Security, the shift in military tactics to focus on large city operations, and the government’s obsession with disarming the American population of any military style weapons.  The fact that there is an alignment between other western powers and the United States in this also highlights the point that the U.S. government understands that they will need international help to deal with a potential internal threat inside large American cities.

“And it’s not only the Army that is convinced these cities represent the battlefields of the future. In April, the Australian Army released its “Future Land Warfare Report,” which came to many of the same conclusions, and voiced the same concerns, as its American partner.” Army Times

Ever since 2008 and the seeming repeal of the Posse Comitatus Act, it has become clear that the military is shifting away from foreign threats to domestic ones. This new war game utilizing both academic and international help paints an even clearer picture of how the U.S. government plans on dealing with political insurrection. Even scarier is the thought that they are already starting to play war games by simulating these types of contact with U.S. military personnel in order to get them used to the idea of fighting inside large domestic population centers. Having been part of and having taken part in training with the 3rd Infantry Division first Brigade during the 2008 NorthCom mission, I can vouch for the fact that we were being trained to “help with civil unrest and crowd control.”  During the 6 months previous to my exit from the military, I can honestly say that I did not hear a single person in my unit complain about the fact that we were being trained to put down an insurrection within the United States borders.

wpid-wp-1411477272737.jpegWhether or not you believe that the U.S. military will fight against its own people doesn’t change the fact that the government and the military are preparing to do so. Using broad language like terrorist attacks or natural disasters, the military is preparing itself for widespread martial law inside of large American cities. The fact that the actual war games were based in a city that had a dam break shows that the military will use either natural or man made disasters as an excuse to use force in an effort to “restore order.” This is not the National Guard coming in to render aid during a disaster but the U.S. military coming in with force utilizing infantry squads, platoons, companies and even battalion sized elements to go in and fight a so-called armed resistance utilizing the latest in military equipment to include shoulder fired crew serve weapons, missiles and alarmingly, even air support.

“McMaster said that by 2030, the Army wants to provide infantry squads “access to aviation and air support and full-motion video, [along with] the ability to overwhelm the enemy during chance contact.” One of the key things is the firepower of the squad, particularly “shoulder-fired weapons capabilities, counter-defilade capabilities, as well as flying munitions and combined arms … mobile protected platforms capable of precision firepower.” Army Times

The fact that a standing army is unconstitutional, especially inside the U.S. doesn’t change the fact that our military is preparing for such operations. They understand the dangers of fighting a insurgency in large US cities and they’re preparing both with equipment and with training in order to desensitize soldiers to the potential of fighting their fellow citizens. For those of you who think that I’m a conspiracy theorist and that this is just the army preparing for fighting an international threat overseas in large cities I ask you to please do me the favor of putting the puzzle pieces together:

1. Since 2001, the U.S. military has fought and trained for fighting a citizen threat rather than an organized military. In 2008 the First Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division was tasked with being prepared for operations within the borders of the United States.

2. The US government has actively been spying on its people with no due process and no regard for privacy. Using the blanket threat of terrorism, the U.S. government has turned its eyes upon us believing the we are a bigger threat to the security of this nation than any external ones. This is highlighted by the Department of Homeland Security’s massive ammunition buy up and the militarization of both local and federal police.

3. This new tactical shift for the military.

wpid-wp-1411477279144.jpegThat’s it. Just three puzzle pieces to put together in order to paint the picture of where our government is thinking the new threat is coming from. It seems that “We the People” are the new enemy to American interests. This new mission has nothing to do with making sure that the people of the United States are more prosperous or even safer.  It is about making sure that those who are in control maintain that control and about making sure that the people remain passive and unable to defend themselves against the yoke of tyranny. If we stand by and do nothing this will become the new normal. The fact that the government is so overt with their actions shows that the end game is quickly approaching.
