The Washington Redskins Took a Patriotic Stance Monday Night

While so many other players and teams have been proudly showing their hatred to the flag and the National Anthem, The Washington Redskins put on a show of class that should embarrass the BLM types. (But won’t) The military was holding up a gigantic US flag.  Instead of lining up down the sideline, the Redskins (All of them) helped hold the flag and keep it from touching the ground.  The crowd loved it.   Ben Roethlisberger and Greg Warren of the Steelers also helped with the flag.  No Steeler took a knee during the Anthem.

The Redskin players insist it was nothing planned.  A couple of players made their way to the flag and the other players reacted to them.

Redskins Coach Jay Gruden said:

“It was awesome, I tell you what.  That was a bright spot. The fans came out in a big way, and the military presentation, Rob O’Neill, that gives you goosebumps all the way. The way the players took advantage, took part in it. That was fun to watch.”

That was the high spot for the Redskins, who lost the game 38-16.

Linebacker Will Compton added:

“It was pretty powerful stuff.  It was just cool to be a part of that. It’s cool because people are using the opportunity to come together and kind of do what they feel is right but knowing that whatever decision these players are making, it’s out of the right intention. The other side of it, even if it’s rubbing some people the wrong way, I think guys are doing a good job of seeing that and doing something as far as bringing people together.”

For one night, at least, America won.
