While most of us were fairly secure in the idea that Gowdy was a stalwart, anti-establishment conservative, he was being wooed behind the scenes to support this GOP POTUS candidate. You’re not gonna like it, either.
Sooner or later, it all comes down to saving/promoting that all cherished political career, instead of doing the right thing for the American people and preserving and protecting her Constitution. And if you haven’t learned that lesson by now, let this latest defection to the Establishment Republican circle of trust be one to remember. Trey Gowdy must have been promised the goose with the golden eggs to do this one, folks.
Tough-talking Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is considered a hero to many conservatives across the country. His congressional interrogations of government corruptocrats are a thing of legend, of beauty, almost conservative pornography.
But Gowdy came under considerable fire on Saturday after he announced that he would be supporting pro-amnesty “Gang of Eight” leader Marco Rubio for president and would be joining Rubio on the campaign trail in the key state of Iowa next week.
“Marco is a rock solid conservative and a strong leader we can trust,” Trey Gowdy said, as being reported by Guy Benson of Townhall. “I look forward to campaigning in Iowa with him, and introducing my good friend to voters across the state,” Gowdy announced.
But as you can see from Trey Gowdy’s Facebook page, conservatives saw the endorsement of Marco Rubio, who fell out of favor in 2013 for joining leftist Democrats like Sens. Chuck Schumer and Republican establishment stooges like RINOs John McCain and Jeff Flake on the “Gang of Eight” bill to push amnesty for illegal aliens, Gowdy’s endorsement and agree to campaign for Marco Rubio is seen in a not so favorable light — to say the least.
A screenshot of the first several comments on Gowdy’s Facebook page, in order, looked like this:
In addition to Trey Gowdy being called out as a RINO (Republican-In-Name-Only) on Facebook, he was equally brutalized on Twitter, with conservatives showing outrage over his support of Rubio, who got elected with Tea Party support in the historic Tea Party wave of 2010.
There are consequences to any action. How’s this gonna play out with the amnesty question? If we elect a former gang of eight guy, will our borders become floodgates for illegals?
POLITISTICK goes on to address the real Gang Of Eight Agenda by publishing Ted Cruz’s amendment to stop illegal amnesty which was opposed by amnesty supporters.
