Note to self: when robbing an ice shack, remember that ice can crack. And don’t drive your car onto the ice.
That would have been some good advice for two Wisconsin criminals, who stupidly drove their car out onto a frozen pond to try and rob the resident ice shack.
Ryan VanPuymbrouck, 20, and Tyler Hale, 24, went on a spree of ice shack burglaries that culminated with their car cracking through the ice and sinking into the water.
“Judging from the tire tracks in the area, it appears as if they became lost or disoriented as to their location and ended up in the river flowing out the south end of the lake where they broke through the thin ice,” the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office told Fox.
“The vehicle, a 2014 Ford Focus owned by Hale’s girlfriend, was found submerged in about six feet of water. The vehicle was not insured,” it added.
Sucks to be stupid.
