Two Police Officers Go Above and Beyond, the Call of Duty to Help Great-Grandmother Who Was Robbed

Two Colorado police officers went beyond the call of duty to help an 86-year-old great-grandmother after her purse was stolen.

Julia Brecht was shopping at the Aurora Super Target when her purse was snatched from her cart, reports The Daily Mail.

Aurora officers Craig Hess and Robert Little helped Brecht get home safely after the theft, and did even more out of pure kindness.

Brecht told the officers she was in a hurry to get home as she takes care of her husband, who is blind and in a wheelchair.

“They grabbed my shopping list,” Brecht said. “They bought the groceries. One brought me home. They went back to Target and brought my car home.”

The officers not only finished Brecht’s grocery shopping and got her car home safely, they also canceled her credit cards and changed the locks on her home since the thief stole her house keys, reports ABC News.

The officers used their own money to purchase the new locks for Brecht’s home.
