A man shoved a woman at a Michigan polling location after voters got into an argument about presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, police said.
Just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Moose Lodge, 5506 Stony Creek Road in Ypsilanti Township, for a report of an altercation. The lodge is serving as an election voting site.
Two women who had already voted got into a heated argument about the presidential candidates in the parking lot, said Derrick Jackson, sheriff’s office director of community engagement.
The video shows a group of five or six people arguing about blocking traffic, and one woman saying, “Get the police here.” A few people started chanting “black lives matter,” Irvin said.“It got out of hand,” Irvin said. “I thought it was really rather embarrassing.”
David Irvin, an Ypsilanti Township resident, didn’t see the physical altercation but caught the aftermath on video.
He was volunteering in the parking lot and helping to direct traffic when he saw the commotion. A woman was angry and kept spitting on people, he said.
It truly is getting heated, and I can only wonder what it will be like when the new president is revealed. I am thinking very hostile Democrats, or sad Republicans.
