The attacker has been killed.

A Muslim  man from Afghanistan,  wielding an ax injured 21 people on the train running from  Wurzburg-Heidingsfeld and Ochsenfurt .  That train line is currently shut down.  Sources say that no one is dead yet but that several do have life threatening injuries.

There are reports that police have shot a man but there is no confirmation of that currently.

A man has been shot by police after attacking tens of people inside a passenger train near the city of Würzburg in the German state of Bavaria, local media report. At least 21 people have been injured. (more)   Local radio reported that at least 21 people were injured in the attack before the suspect was shot by police. Some of those injured were said to have been seriously injured, but specific details were not immediately known. There was also no word on the condition of the suspect. There was also no immediate word on a possible motive for the axe attack. We’re working to gather more information.
