Adam Powell, 41, walked into a Starbucks in Vallejo, California Starbucks with an assault weapon, with the intent to assassinate two police officers but his gun jammed and he ran away. Powell was wearing body armor which is illegal in California. The officers were not hurt as Powell’s gun, which was jury rigged and taped, failed to fire. Police gave chase and in the ensuing confrontation, Powell was shot. He was taken to the hospital where he is in critical condition. (Can you say BLM riot?)
Bidou said Powell is the father of a 2-year-old boy who may have accidentally shot himself earlier Sunday in Suisun City, about 50 miles north of San Francisco. The child was taken to a hospital for a gunshot wound.
Police said preliminary information indicates the wound was accidental and self-inflicted. Powell was present when the child was shot and left the home before officers arrived, police said.
