CBS documentary  The Case Of: Jon Benet Ramsey completed it’s investigation Monday night and revealed who it’s team of investigators have fingered as the killer.  The show brought together an extensive and impressive group of investigators to review the 20 year old case files.  They concluded that the killer was her older brother Burke, but also say that they believe the death was accidental and involved a midnight snack of fresh pineapple.  It was also revealed that a year before, Burke got angry at Jon Benet and hit her in the face with a golf club, leaving a permanent scar.

The theory they developed said that Jon Benet’s mother woke her up to go to the bathroom to make sure she didn’t wet the bed.  Jon Benet was now awake and feeling hungry.  She went downstairs where Burke was enjoying a snack of tea and fresh pineapple that his mother had fixed for him.  The investigator hypothesize that Jon Benet may have tried to snag a piece of Burke’s pineapple and he hit her with a flashlight.  The investigators say that even though they don’t believe it was murder, they are certain the Ramseys mislead police in order to make sure the case would never be solved.

Investigators point out that in the 911 tapes after the Ramseys though the conversation was over asked “What did you do?”  That could indicate that they knew who killed Jon Benet.  Former FBI profiler Jim Clemente said that normally families in these situations get deeply involved wanting a resolution to the case, but that the Ramseys did just the opposite.

JonBenet, a child beauty queen, was found beaten and strangled in the basement of her family's home in Boulder, Colorado, on December 26, 1996

The investigators say they ignored the DNA on Jon Benet’s underwear as being irrelevant as she had not been sexually assaulted.

From The Mail Online:

In the first part of the documentary, the investigators revealed six extra seconds of audio from a 911 call that appeared to suggest her family were involved.

Using modern technology, they said they uncovered the voices of three people having a conversation after Mrs Ramsey thought she had hung up after calling police 20 years ago.

Three phrases can allegedly be heard during the extra six seconds of 911 audio, which are believed to have come from JonBenet’s parents John and Patsy and her older brother Burke.

Investigators believe they can hear Mr Ramsey’s voice saying ‘we’re not speaking to you’, before Mrs Ramsey allegedly asks: ‘What did you do? Help me, Jesus’.

They claim JonBenet’s brother Burke can then be heard asking ‘what did you find?’ – even though his parents have always claimed he was asleep at the time.

The 911 operator who took the call, Kim Archuletta, has also spoken for the first time and revealed she felt the call sounded rehearsed.

‘It sounded like she said, ‘Okay, we’ve called the police, now what?’ and that disturbed me,’ Ms Archuletta said.

‘So I remained on the phone trying to listen to what was being said. It sounded like there were two voices in the room, maybe three. Different ones. I had a bad feeling about this, to me it sounded rehearsed.’

Ms Archuletta said an investigator later visited her home to inform her there was a gag order regarding the case until it went to court, which never happened.

She alleges she was never asked to testify on the grand jury in 1999.

The investigators say that for many reasons, the ransom note seemed to be staged and contained intentional misspellings and odd phrases.  The ransom note asked for $118,000 dollars, which is an odd figure and turns out to be the exact amount John Ramsey had gotten as a bonus earlier in the year, which few knew about.

No charges were ever laid in her murder

The three-page ransom note claimed to have been written by a 'group of individuals that represent a small foreign faction'
