I will admit to you that I get a bit teary any time I see a small child have to go through something terrible, like cancer, or in this case an artificial leg. It’s hard enough for an adult to understand and to accept but with a child it is much more upsetting. Little Emma was fitted with a prosthetic right leg that will limit her a bit and will have to be replaced periodically as she grows up. The leg was made by A Step Ahead Prosthetics, based in Boston and New York. As it turns out, they gave that little girl much more than a prosthetic leg, they gave her joy.
