Rafael Salamanca’s Wednesday interview on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” started out poorly and quickly got worse.
Host Tucker Carlson first posed to the New York City councilman that in the 1950s and 1960s, “states and municipalities” defied federal law, “and the feds sent troops in, sent tanks in” to restore order.
“How is that different than this?”
Salamanca stated that he didn’t think the federal government “would send in tanks” before giving a boiler plate defense — which he would reuse multiple times throughout the show — of sanctuary cities.
Additionally, Salamanca opted to “trust his instincts” and ditched his earpiece.
The Jedi mind-tricks didn’t fool Carlson.
“I understand that, but there are federal laws that say who can come into our country and who cannot, and we’re ignoring them. There’s nothing you can do about it.” he countered. “How is that not a a violation of the law itself?”
