For those of you who weren’t exactly ecstatic about Fox’s cheery and wholesome Grease Live, there is now some edgier musical fare coming your way.
Fox has just released the trailer for the upcoming TV reboot of the beloved cult classic, Rocky Horror Picture Show. While footage is still scarce, the teaser is still undeniably exciting.
The remake will feature the incomparable Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Furter — with the OG Rocky Horror alum Tim Curry as the criminologist narrator. Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan play Janet and Brad, while Adam Lambert (of American Idol fame) slips into the greasy-haired role of Eddie. The reboot also features Christina Milian as Magenta, Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, and Annaleigh Ashford as Columbia.
Is this remake totally blasphemous? Possibly. Will it be infectious and fun, despite all our cynicism? Probably.
The reboot will premiere in the fall of 2016 — so regardless of your feelings on the this new iteration, brush up on those Time Warp moves.
