Trooper Brian Costanza is involved in a high speed chase, when he whipped out his rifle and he managed to stop a murder suspect by shooting out his window while maintaining his speed.  It looks more like a made for the movies scene than true life, but true life it is.

An Oklahoma state trooper was locked in a high-speed pursuit of a criminal who had allegedly killed two of his own family members, and the chase ended in a terrifying way.

Trooper Brian Costanza was forced to unload his rifle through the windshield to stop the man, and it was all caught on tape.

According to CNN, the alleged murderer, Michael Vance, was accused of killing two family members and critically wounding a woman during a carjacking. He shot three police officers during a crime spree that began on Oct. 23.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol got a tip that Vance was nearby, and when they located him, the man fled, leading officers on a high-speed chase. The lead trooper in the chase appeared to have knocked the window out of his patrol car’s windshield so that he could use his M4 rifle to stop Vance.

It is not a regular occurrence for officers to fire weapons from their vehicle to apprehend suspects; that is the kind of thing we are more used to seeing in video games and action movies. However, it seems that this was a last resort for the officer, who was forced to take extreme measures after Vance began shooting at him.

Vance was armed with an AKM rifle and was firing at officers before the incredibly poised and focused state trooper took him out with a 7-shot blast to Vance’s windshield.
