Arek Trenholm, 16, has spina bifida. It’s a terrible disease that affects the spine and spinal column, that makes it extremely painful to stand up. But at a local parade, Arek saw the marching band being led by the American flag. He fought through the pain and slowly but surely got to a standing position to honor the flag. I wouldn’t trade on Arek for a thousand Colin Kaepernicks. I salute this young man and pray that doctors find a cure for this terrible disease.
