This inspirational picture is going viral right now because it captures a sacred moment between two humans. This teen has stopped to pray for a homeless man simply out of the kindness of his heart.
A Baltimore police officer on patrol stopped in his tracks when he saw a touching moment unfold right before his eyes on Tuesday. In front of him was a young teen, praying over a homeless man who was sleeping on the streets.
Eric Gaines had seen other people look into the man’s pockets as they passed him, and he expected that the teen would be no different. But the boy, who the University of Maryland, Baltimore officer believes was 15 or 16, simply knelt down and, resting one hand over the man’s shoe, began to pray. ‘It was a powerful moment,’ Gaines told ABC News. ‘Everyone who saw him in the area was moved.’
Gaines said the teen almost missed his bus as he took the time to stop for the homeless man. The photo of the powerful moment, first posted on Facebook by Jonathan A. Stormz on March 1, has since been shared more than 32,000 times.

‘I watched as this young kid was walking pass, stopped and walked over to this sleeping homeless man,’ Jonathan wrote on Facebook. ‘This was an amazing sight! I pray this kid becomes a leader amongst his peers (sic), and continues on this path! Not all Baltimore youth are lost!” Gaines was happy to see the photo go viral and hopes those like the young teen will receive more attention to fight against the ‘preconceived notions’ people held of young men. ‘Not all are lost,’ he said. ‘Some are doing wonderful things in the neighborhood and community and it’s not getting the same publicity in the media.’
We should all learn a lesson from this. Stop to help and pray for each other no matter what kind of walks of life we are from. Live a life without judgement and with the faith of God.
