Hairdressers come across lice every week or two but now a new aggressive and large type of lice has been found in as many as 25 states.

Incredibly, these lice are not easily killed by the usual lice treatments. There is one type of medication called AirAllé can help with cases of “super lice”, though it is expensive. Doctors say that while medications may be helpful in getting rid of infestations, spreading the word about ways to prevent the transfer of lice in the first place will be the best way to kill the new bug. There are numerous precautions that can be done to prevent the spread of lice. For example, one should avoid sharing pillows with other children or siblings, and do not share hair brushes, hats, or hair accessories. Another option is to put you or your child’s hair up as to prevent lice from actually reaching the scalp in the first place.
