(Scroll down for video) An angry mother is facing charges after threatening to blow up her daughter’s school, police in New York said.

The New York Police Department said that they arrested 48-year-old Karen Shearon, for threatening to blow up her 15-year-old daughter’s school after learning that she had failed a Regents exam.

According to the police investigation, an employee of the Susan E. Wagner school called Shearon on Tuesday morning, to tell her that her 15-year-old daughter failed the standardized test.

Shearon became extremely angry and said: “I’m going to blow up the school.” Shearon was released from jail on her own recognizance.

Shearon denied the allegations, saying that if she made such a threat the school would have been evacuated.
