In a new ad for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, the father of a boy killed by an illegal alien said of the billionaire real estate mogul that “he was sent by God.”
Jamiel Shaw’s son, Jas Shaw, was gunned down by an illegal immigrant in Los Angeles back in 2008. The high school sports standout was the victim of apparently random violence. The immigrant was asking Shaw what gang he belonged to, and when Shaw didn’t respond, the man shot him. Shaw would die later at the hospital.
“Since my son was dead, I pretty much gave up on being happy,” Jamiel Shaw said, according to the Washington Examiner. The African-American man’s case gained national attention for a short while, especially since the illegal immigrant in question had just been released from jail. He even got a letter from then-president George W. Bush, but nothing major came of it.
That is, until Donald Trump got involved. Last year, Trump asked Shaw to meet him at the Beverly Hilton Hotel out of the blue.
“To see somebody, especially a billionaire, come out. I can’t even get a neighborhood politician to come out, that’s why it’s so surreal to me,” Shaw said.
