When a reporter was filming a live report Friday from the West Bank, an Israeli man approached her from behind, made faces at the camera and then broke out in the chant “El, el, Israel!”
Apparently unaffected by the interruption, the reporter used the opportunity to bash Israelis. “This is actual proof of the filth of settlers and their illegal presence on Palestinian land,” the reporter said according to a translation by Israel’s Ynet News. Wearing a t-shirt printed with the Hebrew word for “Samaria,” the man pointed to his shirt and said, “Read this, Samaria is the state’s Iron Dome.” The man’s chant, “El, el, Israel” could be a reference to God, which is “El” in Hebrew. The chant could also be associated with Israeli soccer fans.
