Watch: One South Carolina City Dedicates A Park To Cancer Survivors, And Offers A Place Of Refuge And Peace to Others

World cancer day was Feb. 4th. Most if not all of us have been affected by this terrible disease. One city in particular has gone above and beyond to support both survivors, and families of cancer.

Greenville SC, nestled in the Upstate of beautiful SC has built a park in their downtown area dedicated to the people who have fought cancer, and those who have died.

WYFF Reports:

” THIS ALMOST 7 ACRES OF LAND WAS KIND OF A DEAD ZONE BETWEEN FALLS PARK AND CLEVELAND PARK. BUT NOW, THE CANCER SURVIVORS ARE GIVING IT NEW LIFE. THIS IS THE FIRST PHASE OF 4. THIS IS LIKE THE STEPPING POINT TO PROVIDE A VERY SPECIAL PLACE.  FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS WILL INCLUDE HEALING AND CHILDREN’S GARDENS, A WATER WALL, ALSO EDUCATION CENTERS, WITH A TOTAL COST OF $7.5 MILLION. THERE IS HOPE, AND WE HOPE THIS PARK WILL HELP TO BE ACCESS TO THAT FOR MANY PEOPLE THAT ARE ON THAT JOURNEY. MANY WALKING HERE KNOW SOMEONE WHO’SE DIED, OR IS A CANCER SURVIVOR, AND ARE PROUD GREENVILLE’S TAKEN A STEP TO HONOR THEM.”
