Ted Nugent has been laying low recently, taking a much-deserved break from the road after years and years of regular touring — especially during the summer. But the Motor City Madman resurfaced after the weekend, showing up to play “Cat Scratch Fever” at the first two of Kid Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker band‘s 10 sold-out home town shows at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in suburban Detroit.
Rock brought Nugent on by beginning to play the song on Nugent’s guitar, which had been strategically placed on stage; Nugent then walked on, comically “scolding” Rock before taking the guitar and ripping into the song himself.
It’s not know if Nugent will guest at any of Rock’s other shows during the homestand. Nugent is also slated to perform at Charlie Daniels’ Volunteer Jam on Wednesday (August 12) in Nashville.
