It’s hard to say what someone might be capable of if they are caught in a stolen car with gun, three fraudulent credit cards and a fraudulent ID. But thanks to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, we at least know what 20-year-old Kenzo Roberts is willing to do to try and fool police.

While Roberts was in the pack of a patrol car after being pulled over on suspicion of driving a stolen Mercedes, a camera caught him resorting to a downright desperate measure: trying to chew off his own fingerprints. He also tried to grind them on the police cage, WPT-TV reported.

Unfortunately for Roberts, gnawing on his own fingers didn’t work. A fingerprint scanner identified him.
