What The Army Just Announced Will Change America Forever, It’s Finally Happening

The Army just made an epic announcement that will change EVERYTHING. It’s finally happening!

Capt. Kristen Griest and 1st Lt. Shaye Haver will make history this week as the first women to graduate from the legendary Ranger School, a grueling program that is highly respected by the U.S. Army.

The historical duo proved their strength at the famously challenging school created to design elite combat leaders. Both in their 20s, they endured exhausting hikes, sleepless nights, malnutrition and simulated combat exercises to test their perseverance, synergy skills and response time.

Griest and Haver will will receive the coveted Ranger Tab alongside their male counterparts at the graduation. This marks an epic milestone in the military’s pursuit to integrate women into positions that they previously hadn’t been allowed to serve.

It’s a monumental accomplishment for Griest and Haver, however, they will still not be allowed to try out for the elite 75th Ranger Regiment because of their gender.

“The women who successfully completed and graduate from the Ranger course will receive a certificate of completion and be awarded and authorized to wear the Ranger Tab. They will return to their unit,” Army spokeswoman Lt. Col. Jennifer Johnson said. “They will not go on to serve in a Ranger Regiment.

Although I am thrilled to see Griest and Haver make history, I would be more thrilled if they weren’t being marginalized for their gender. This is a monumental step for the Army towards empowering women, but they still have a long way to go.
