‘Who Controls the Senate?’: Watch D.C. Passersby Struggle to Answer These Basic Political Questions

Fox News producer Jesse Watters hit the streets of Washington, D.C. ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections to quiz random passersby with various political questions — and some didn’t perform so well.

“When are you going to vote?” Watters asked one individual who was handing out political flyers outside the White House.

“Um — when the elections happen,” the unidentified person replied.

“Do you know when the elections are?” Watters pressed.

“November 9th, no?” the man answered.

In another exchange, Watters presented an individual with a different question outside Union Station.

“Who controls the Senate right now?” he asked.

“It’s hard to say,” the man responded.

“It’s not that hard,” Watters replied.
