Why Dylan Mulvaney Has Fled To South America Following Bud Light Backlash….

Months after the transgender-identifying activist teamed with Bud Light and triggered a widespread reaction, Dylan Mulvaney flew to Peru “to feel something” and “feel safe.”

This week, Mulvaney, a male who claims to be a woman, posted on TikTok claiming he was traveling alone to Peru. Mulvaney may be seen in videos uploaded to the social networking website walking with llamas and visiting the Andean city of Machu Picchu.

“I’ve seen a lot of llamas. The people here are so kind. I feel very safe here,” Mulvaney said on TikTok. “It’s a little sad that I had to leave my country to feel safe but that will get better eventually.”

Mulvaney continued, describing his “shaman ceremonies” as being therapeutic.

“I came here to feel something. And I definitely have. I have done shaman ceremonies that were like 10 years worth of therapy, it was wild,” Mulvaney said. “Most of all this trip has me feeling like my own best friend again. And that is the best feeling in the world.”

Mulvaney’s visit to Peru follows cooperation with Anheuser-Busch in which the company handed the activist a Bud Light can with his face on it. This partnership caused Anheuser-Busch to lose billions of dollars in market value. Bud Light was criticized by Mulvany last month for not doing enough to “publicly stand” up for him.

“I took a brand deal with a company that I loved. And I posted a sponsored video to my page,” Mulvaney said. “And it must have been a slow news week, because the way that this ad got blown up, you would have thought I was like, on a billboard, or on a TV commercial or something major, but no, it was just an Instagram video.”

Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, has indicated that while he hasn’t claimed the relationship was a mistake, he doesn’t want the beer brand to be something that “divides people.”

“And I was waiting for the brand to reach out to me, but they never did. And for months now, I’ve been scared to leave my house, I have been ridiculed in public, I’ve been followed,” Mulvaney added.

Following the Mulvaney agreement, Bud Light sales fell dramatically, and the beer has since lost its ranking as one of the nation’s top 10 beers, dropping to number 14 in recent consumer surveys.
