A nation’s leader is expected to embody the people he or she governs.
They are happy when the people are happy.
And weep with them in their anguish.
In such circumstances, their face becomes the face of the nation, the face that the world looks at to comprehend a nation’s sentiments.
What a shame that the second in charge of the United States laughs and cackles on camera while apparently prepared to commemorate one of the darkest days in our country’s history.
It’s bad enough that President Joe Biden skipped Monday’s 9/11 commemoration at Ground Zero in New York City, preferring to be in Alaska, far away from any concerns about the city’s rising immigrant crisis.
Biden was returning to the United States after attending a Group of 20 summit in India and then visiting Vietnam.
According to Newsweek, this was the first time a serving president did not remember the attacks at one of the sites of the tragedy or at the White House since 2002.
When Fox News’ Peter Doocy questioned a White House official why Biden would not be present at one of the attack sites, he was told that “the analogy that I was given is that ’22 years after Pearl Harbor, U.S. presidents were not still going to visit Hawaii.'”

Former Republican New York Gov. George Pataki said it was “a disgrace” that Biden wasn’t traveling to New York City for the anniversary in a radio appearance with WABC-AM, according to The Hill.
However, it would have been preferable if no one from the administration had attended, rather than Vice President Kamala Harris, who was caught on camera laughing and greeting others prior to Monday’s 9/11 ceremony in New York, as if she were at a cocktail party rather than a solemn assembly at the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in Manhattan.
One YouTube user commented, “How disturbing to see our clueless VP and other ‘characters’ smiling during the memorial of THE event that shook this great nation and continues to reverberate through ought our every waking moment. SHAME on you, you don’t deserve the title of VP you are completely disrespectful to the lives lost and families that endured such tragedy.”
“What a disgraceful performance, not serious in the least, all about her,” wrote one user of X, formerly Twitter.

Another X user shared a video of Harris after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol assault, in which she compared it to the Pearl Harbor attack and 9/11.
VP Kamala Harris compared the January 6th protest to 9/11 and the attack on Pearl Harbor.

I’d like to see her have the audacity to say this to a survivor or a family member who lost someone that daypic.twitter.com/1NiMeV1ngT

The optics of her behavior, like Biden gazing at his watch during a tribute for US service personnel slain in Afghanistan, not only resound on a worldwide scale but are like a knife in the heart to people at home who lost someone that day.
This infamous photo of Biden continually checking his watch during the dignified transfer ceremony for the 13 heroes slain in the Abbey Gate terror assault on August 26, 2021, was released two years ago today. Biden has yet to publicly announce their names.

I would say that she should be ashamed, but she won’t be.
It’s all funny to her.
