#WillFerrell Backs Out Of Reagan/Alzheimer “Comedy” – Caves To Social Media Pressure

People really do have power, … when they decide to use it. #WillFerrell is now thinking better of his decision to mock former president, Reagan, and his affliction with Alzheimers disease. What a difference a little social media pressure can make. It’s amazing how quickly a left wing, bleeding heart liberal can grow a conscience, isn’t it?

TheDailyCaller: Will Ferrell pulled out of a Ronald Reagan comedy Friday after outrage erupted over the film’s light tone.

The actor has confirmed that although he considered the movie after seeing the script, he will not move forward with the project, Page Six reports.

“The REAGAN script is one of a number of scripts that had been submitted to Will Ferrell which he had considered,” a spokesman for the actor said. “While it is by no means a ‘Alzheimer’s comedy’ as has been suggested, Mr. Ferrell is not pursuing this project.”

After it was announced that Ferrell was considering playing the former president in a comedy about Alzheimer’s, Reagan’s daughter wrote an angry letter condemning the movie.

“Alzheimer’s doesn’t care if you are President of the United States or a dockworker,” Davis wrote this week. “It steals what is most precious to a human being—memories, connections, the familiar landmarks of a lifetime that we all come to rely on to hold our place secure in this world and keep us linked to those we have come to know and love.”

“Perhaps for your comedy you would like to visit some dementia facilities. I have — I didn’t find anything comedic there, and my hope would be that if you’re a decent human being, you wouldn’t either.” “Perhaps you would like to explain to them how this disease is suitable material for a comedy.”
