Jake Tapper of CNN did not even attempt to sugarcoat the most recent findings of a poll that evaluated President Joe Biden’s popularity.

How poor? According to CNN, the poll found that only 33% of respondents thought that Biden gaining a second term would be a positive development or victory for the nation.

According to the study, 26% of respondents said that Biden’s election would be a setback for the country, while 41% thought it would be a disaster.

In the most recent poll, Biden’s favorability decreased from 42% in December to 35%.

Yeah, that is not good.

“Horrible news. Horrible for Joe Biden,” Tapper said Thursday as he launched into the results of CNN’s latest poll tracking Biden’s plummeting support.

“Those are some bad numbers,” he said.

CNN political director David Challian also pointed out that the support for Biden among independents has decreased from 35% in December to 26% in the most recent poll.

“Thirty-five percent favorable. That is remarkably low, that’s a big warning sign.” he said.

Biden received a substantial majority of votes in the poll, but Challian claimed that there was an underlying weakness that prevented him from being the Democrats’ nominee in 2024.

Overall, 60 percent of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters prefer Biden, compared to 20 percent who endorse Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and 8 percent who back author Marianne Williamson.

Challian noted that Kennedy garnered 32 percent support from independents who lean Democratic compared to 40 percent for Biden, calling this a “potential warning sign” and a “warning sign” for Biden.

A random nationwide sample of 1,227 registered voters, including 432 Democrats and independents leaning Democratic, was surveyed by SSRS from May 17 to May 20. The margin of error for the entire sample was 3.7 percentage points, whereas it was 6.2 percentage points for Democrats.

Not all of the negative news for Biden came from the CNN survey. According to a recent NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist survey, 62 percent of respondents are concerned about Biden’s mental fitness for the job as the 2024 election draws near. Only 36% of respondents believed it was unimportant.

According to an NPR examination of the data, 69 percent of survey participants under the age of 45, 64 percent of respondents who identified as non-white, and 63 percent of suburban residents expressed concern about Biden’s mental health. The survey has a 3.4 percentage point margin of error.
