Remember this guy? The one who wrote a manual on how to “rape” women? He thought this might be just the thing to put women, feminists in their place. Well, as part of his efforts to ‘enlighten’ men and regain ‘control,’ he planned a world speaking tour to lecture them their empowerment, but for some reason, abruptly cancelled the tour. It seems lite this big, tough masculine guy was scared off by a bunch of … women.
So there’s this massive asshole named Daryush Valizadeh who actually thinks that rape should be legalized, as long as it’s on private property.
He runs a website called The Return of Kings, which focuses on the “plight” of being a “real man” in today’s society. He recently gained attention after planning a number of meet-ups with devotees including in Sydney, London, and Toronto. But in what may be the greatest twist of irony ever, he’s now had to cancel the events after being unable to “guarantee the safety or privacy of the men who want to attend.”
“I can no longer guarantee the safety or privacy of the men who want to attend on February 6, especially since most of the meetups can not be made private in time,” Valizadeh wrote.
“While I can’t stop men who want to continue meeting in private groups, there will be no official Return of Kings meetups. The listing page has been scrubbed of all locations. I apologize to all the supporters who are let down by my decision.”
Why, you ask? It might have something to do with the fact that an all-female boxing team threatened to crash rallies in Toronto, Canada.
Try to mess with these ladies, Valizadeh. We dare you.
Or the fact that a Facebook event calling for people to protest and ensure the “safety of our whole community” at a Return of Kings meeting in Brisbane had 747 marked as “going.”
And then there was Twitter:
Valizadeh pledged to be in Australia for the meetings, advertised for “heterosexual, masculine men only” after a nationwide backlash against him.
Earlier this week, Valizadeh had pledged not to cancel the events — despite a petition that received more than 100,000 signatures.
Australia’s Immigration Minister Peter Dutton had also signaled that he would block Valizadeh’s entry into the country. Earlier this month, Dutton cancelled the visa of “pick-up artist” Jeff Allen, who teaches men to pick up women by harassing them. So it was pretty unlikely that Valizadeh would have been allowed to enter.
Saying that he was going to enter the country illegally didn’t seem to help the issue much either…
