500+ Criminals Among Migrant Group Currently At The U.S. Border

The Department of Homeland Security has issued a disturbing report about the group of migrants currently in Tijuana.

There are more than 500 criminals in the group, as Fox News reports:

More than 500 criminals are traveling with the migrant caravan that’s massed on the other side of a San Diego border crossing, homeland security officials said Monday afternoon.

The revelation was made during a conference call with reporters, with officials asserting that “most of the caravan members are not women and children”.

They claimed the group is mostly made up of single adult or teen males and that the women and children have been pushed to the front of the line in a bid to garner sympathetic media coverage.

“All legal options are on the table and we have been negotiating with all our partners in central America with ways to deal with the caravan,” one official said when asked about reports that the U.S. government is planning to make asylum-seekers remain on the Mexican side of the border while their claims are being reviewed.

Homeland Security officials say there are currently 6,000 people in Tijuana waiting to be processed at the San Ysidro border crossing, with more on the way.

This is really bad and explains why some citizens of Tijuana are very angry at their government for allowing this to happen, as NBC News reports.

A group opposed to the “chaos” of the so-called migrant caravans protested outside the largest makeshift shelter as Mexican police in riot gear formed a perimeter.

The demonstrators sang the Mexican national anthem and waved flags as they urged the migrants to go home.

The protesters said they had no problem with legal immigration, but they were strongly opposed to what they called an “illegal invasion.”

Some protesters said the Mexican government should follow President Donald Trump’s lead and adopt tougher border policies.

“He’s defending his border, unlike our president,” said protester Elvia Vijeras. “Now there will be more violence in Tijuana.”

You can expect the anger of Tijuana residents to grow as President Trump makes clear the caravans will not pass.

Northbound traffic from the San Ysidro border crossing near Tijuana has been temporarily halted while “border hardening” construction takes place, per NBC News:

Lanes into the United States from Mexico have been temporarily shut down at the San Ysidro Port of Entry as crews secure the border in response to a caravan of thousands of migrants from Central America.

A message from CBP said they had temporarily suspended northbound vehicle processing as they “position additional port hardening materials.”

The lanes would be reopened after the process was completed, CBP said. It was not clear how long the positioning would take. …

More than 1,100 Marines have been deployed to assist CBP with Operation Secure Line, a “border hardening” mission meant to prepare the area’s infrastructure for the arrival of thousands of people among the migrant caravan seeking asylum in the United States.

CBP said the Marines’ specific duties include installing barbed wire to make walls less scalable, and reinforcing construction areas so that people could not cross into them.
