90yo Woman Shot After An Argument Over Chicken Bones [VIDEO]

An unidentified 90-year-old woman was struck by gunfire after scolding two people who were allegedly walking down the street and mindlessly throwing chicken bones into yards. This absurd crime in which Baltimore Police spokeman T.J. Smith called “a despicable act of crime,”  happened Saturday afternoon in the 1800 block of Harlem Avenue.

This is a case that “illustrates the mentality of some of these suspects who are walking the streets with guns,” Smith says. “People that have behavior problems that can’t settle their behavior problems without resorting to significant violence, and that’s using a gun”

The man in the pair allegedly came back to the area and fired shots after they got into a somewhat verbal altercation with the 90 year old woman on the street after they were seen throwing chicken bones.

Reports say, the 90-year-old woman shouted at them and ordered them to pick up their trash, and other bystanders then became involved in the argument. The couple eventually left the scene but the fight was apparently not over as the man returned with a pistol then started shooting towards a group of people.

The 90-year-old woman was hit by a ricochet, according to Smith.

According to reports, another bystander, a 55-year-old man, was shot in the leg.

Neither of the victims were believed to be the intended targets as the suspect shot “presumably towards the people he was arguing with on the street,” Smith says.

But still, “it’s sad that that even occurred… there’s really no words to explain how silly and stupid something like this is.”

Both victims were transported to an area hospital and are luckily in good condition.
