Another Restaurant Turns Away On-Duty Officers For Absurd Reason

Over the last few months, it seems restaurant employees across the country have been turning away law enforcement officers in uniform. Mainly, the officers have been told that they can’t enter an establishment with a gun. T.G.I. Friday’s is now offering an apology for a recent incident in their store.

Three uniformed officers on duty carrying state-issues identification and weapons were told that they were ‘not allowed to have guns’ in a local T.G.I. Friday restaurant. The officers relayed their experience on Facebook, one of them posting that “it’s so nice to be treated like crap when (I am) just trying to take my lunch hour.”

It wasn’t long before protests and boycotts were planned. People took to the restaurant’s Facebook page and complained, suggesting the store fire the manager.

The post was what some consider an odd response. While the response appeared apologetic, it also reeked of suspicion. An excerpt taken directly from the manager’s post read, “Please understand with all the public shootings, we just want to do our best to keep all the guest safe. It’s crazy to think… Yet emulating a police or security guard is easily possible when not in a recognizable uniform. Speaking of which what department do you guys serve, I was a little confused by the clothing.”

The post was later deleted, which garnered even more complaints for those who had glimpsed it earlier.
