When Colonial Park Elementary kids came home from school, crying, parents were infuriated when they found out why. What right does a substitute teacher have telling kids this?
KMRG: Many of the 26 kids in class went home crying after the fill-in spouted off in class.
“I was appalled to learn a substitute would purposely talk to students about the existence of Santa Claus,” one school administrator wrote.
One parent told Fox25, “my son said that she was really mean, and that he doesn’t understand why she would say that.” The little boy finished by saying, “she’s on the naughty list.”
Workers at Colonial Park Elementary confirmed staffing agency Kelly Services provided the temp.
“Kelly Services is always concerned about alleged reports of unsatisfactory behavior by one of our employees,” the company wrote. “However, in accordance with employment regulations and prudent business practices, we do not publicly disclose employment status or information specific to an employee.”
That’s not good enough for parents. “What do they know about these people that they’re putting with our children for the day?” one asked. “I just want to know why, what could possibly have been going through her mind to come out with a statement like that?”
The school says they will not allow that teacher in the classroom again.
