The Indian Point Energy Center is 34 miles north of New York City’s Central Park, and has been leaking the radioactive material known as tritium into the groundwater for some time now. On February 6, 2016 New York Governor Andrew Cuomo finally alerted the public to the potential catastrophe. It is said that radiation levels could reach up to 9 times higher than those found at fukushima.
