If there’s one political figure on the right who — quite possibly more than any other — has consistently been an articulate champion in the media for Donald Trump, it’s Newt Gingrich.
From boldly declaring that the billionaire businessman could actually put all 50 states in play for Republicans this November, to saying that a “President Trump” should immediately push Congress to pass a law allowing incompetent bureaucrats to be fired more easily, the former Speaker of the House has supported Trump’s unorthodox bid for the White House almost without hesitation.

And in a weekend appearance on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine,” Gingrich gave kudos to the New York developer’s political prowess while giving a swift kick in the pants suit to Hillary Clinton for what the ex-congressman from Georgia claimed is a major problem with her struggling candidacy.
Gingrich told Judge Jeanine Pirro that Trump’s surprisingly successful run for the Republican nomination could prove to be “historic” because the former reality TV star may have captured the party crown after spending the least amount of money in modern presidential politics.
The high-profile GOP politician, author and analyst also pointed out that Hillary Clinton is a terribly flawed candidate, not only because she’s perceived by so many as being dishonest and untrustworthy, but also because she’s so obviously inauthentic.
Often mentioned as a strong candidate to be Trump’s running mate on the 2016 ticket, Gingrich got further support over the weekend as a vice presidential prospect from the GOP’s 1996 nominee for president, Bob Dole.
CNN reports that Dole’s perception of why Gingrich would be a good number-two on the ticket echoes what party leaders and pundits have been saying:
“My view is that Donald Trump needs someone who understands Congress, who can help him work with Congress, who understands foreign policy, domestic policy, economic policy. You know someone like Newt Gingrich,” Dole said, according to CNN. “You know none of us are perfect, but Newt Gingrich is a good fit for Trump, because he can help him in all of those areas and Trump has to listen.”
