Dad Slips Tape Recorder In Son’s Pocket, After School He Presses Play & Is Stunned By What He Hears

After the father of a young boy noticed his autistic son’s behavior grow increasingly violent, he decided to do a little investigating. He provided his son with a tape recorder to record the days events and what he found shocked him to his core.

According to Littlethings.com:

Stuart’s son, Akian, is a quiet and gentle boy who has autism. In 2012, Stuart heard 10-year-old Akian was becoming violent in school; the single father from Cherry Hill, New Jersey became immediately concerned about his boy with special needs. However, the school wouldn’t provide him with any answers or assistance. In a bold and controversial move, Stuart turned into his own detective and sent Akian to school with a tape recorder in his pocket.

When Akian came home from school, Stuart pressed play on the recorder, and what he heard completely shocked him. On the tape was more than six hours of inappropriate — and downright disturbing — confrontations. Stuart discovered Akian’s teacher was berating his son in class and making his time at school miserable. She was completely ignorant to Akian’s autism, going so far as to call Akian a “bastard” and talking in class about sex and alcohol use.

A few months later, Stuart uploaded a video to YouTube to describe the situation and share the shocking audio with the public. Unsurprisingly, his video went viral with millions of views. However, Stuart went on a mission to spread bullying awareness, and he encouraged outraged viewers to react in a peaceful manner.

While some may have a problem with a child using a recording device, many people applaud Stuart for taking the steps to help his son when no one else would. As a parent, what would you have done?

Thankfully due to the father’s actions, the school is better able to understand the child and his needs and hopefully the teacher is removed. What do you think?
