Donald Trump is the presumed Republican nominee for President, and people have begun to speculate who his VP will be. Trump has met with many powerful people, but one name that is not as recognized has piqued the interest of political insiders. Trump’s latest meeting came as a surprise to some political watchers. On Monday, Trump meet with Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst, sparking rumors that she might be a potential vice presidential pick, The New York Times reported…

In the statement, Ms. Ernst said that her focus was on defeating Hillary Clinton, saying, “I had a good conversation with Donald Trump today, and we discussed what I am hearing from Iowans as I travel around the state on my 99-county tour, and the best path forward for our country.”

She added: “I will continue to share my insights with Donald about the need to strengthen our economy, keep our nation safe and ensure America is always a strong, stabilizing force around the globe.”

Ms. Ernst is also considered a possible keynote speaker at the Republican National Convention, which begins on July 18 in Cleveland.

Is Ms. Ernst what the Republicans and America needs to beat Clinton? Ernst is a outspoken Conservative, and may be a good choice for Trump. It is said that she has been considered, but there is no confirmation is this is what the meeting was about.
