Geraldo Rivera made an about face on claims that he had tapes of “embarrassing” statements from Donald Trump and offered the Republican presidential nominee a public apology.
Rivera boasted last week that he would release the offending tapes once he had gone through them.
The Fox News personality hung his head in shame Wednesday morning, admitting the infamous tapes did not exist.
Rivera then offered Trump an apology for “piling on” and “adding fuel” despite the fact that Trump had “always treated me and mine w respect & friendship.”
