Fox Host Jesse Waters confronted Rep John Lewis on his remarks that Trump is an illegitimate president. Lewis said he was in hurry and kept walking. Waters asked a litany of questions on the remark and Lewis refused to answer any of them.
Waters asked Lewis:
“You said that Trump is an illegitimate president. Do you regret that?”
No reply.
Waters asked:
“That’s a pretty divisive thing to say, wouldn’t you agree?”
No reply.
Waters asks:
“Congressman? Don’t you think you owe a little respect to the office?”
No reply.
Lewis said during an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” earlier this month that he doesn’t think Trump was elected legitimately.
“I believe in forgiveness. I believe in trying to work with people. It’s going to be hard. It’s going to be very difficult. I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president,” Lewis said.
“I think the Russians participated in helping this man get elected and they helped destroy the candidacy of Hillary Clinton,” Lewis added.
