What could possibly go wrong?
A Swedish evangelical megachurch is planning to unleash a fleet of drones on ISIS-controlled territory, but these drones will be armed with Bibles.
According to the Washington Post, a pastor for the Swedish church Livets Ord, or “Word of Life,” posted on Instagram that the church “will start using military drones, three meters wide, to drop thousands of electronic Bibles over closed areas in the Middle East. Let’s pray the message of God’s love in Christ will conquer that of darkness and hate!”
The electronic Bibles will reportedly be “pill”-sized, though it’s not clear what language they will be in.
Christian Akerhielm, the church’s missions director, said the aerial Bible dump was more akin to smuggling than to military assault operations. He added that the effort dovetailed with the church’s other activities in the region, like distributing aid at refugee camps.
