A 43-year-old dad and his 25-year-old daughter have been charged with incest after having “consensual sex.”
Daniel and Santana Mexican, of Eagle Butte, South Dakota, both and pleaded not guilty to the indictment on December 16.
The alleged act took place on November 20 on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation. Tribe Law Enforcement Services are leading the investigation.
If convicted they could face up to five years in jail and a $250,000 fine each.
The defendants have been released on bond while awaiting trial set for February 21.
