Donald Trump Reacts to the Death of Talk Radio Legend Rush Limbaugh

Today, we lost a true American patriot when the news of Rush Limbaugh passing made its rounds on the news and internet.

I know for myself this death hits especially close to home since he was my first lesson in conservatism. My parents used to listen to him way back in 1991-1992 when I was a teenager and his lessons on liberalism and how it would destroy our country helped shape my viewpoints.

It is Rush who lead me down the road to alternative media as my passion and career and I could not be more grateful. It is Rush who helped so many see the light and ignite a patriotic movement in this country.

President Trump, who was friends with Rush offered his own tribute upon hearing of his passing and it was just as amazing as we know it would be.

Here is more:

Donald Trump said it was a “great honor” to give the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Rush Limbaugh, adding it was “something special” on an “incredible night” during the State of the Union Address.

“Half the room went crazy and the other half of the room, they knew he should get it,” he said.

“When was the last time you spoke with Rush Limbaugh?” Bill Hemmer asked during the Fox News interview.

“Three or four days ago,” he replied. “I called him just to find out, you know, his fight was very, very courageous. He was very, very sick. And you know, from diagnosis on, it was just something that was not going to be beaten.”

“But, you wouldn’t know it and he is married to an incredible woman, Kathryn, who really, every time I spoke to him, he would tell me how great she was, she took such great care,” he said.

“He was very brave,” Trump added. “He really could have been gone four months ago. Really. He just was fighting until the very end. He was a fighter.”

The following are some of the other touching tributes from some of Rush’s closest family, fans, associates, and colleagues. One that hits hard is from his long-time producer Bo Snerdley:

Donald Trump’s family also commented upon Rush’s passing:

We have lost a true American patriot today but that just means he has passed the torch to the rest of us to keep up the fight.

Thank you, Rush for your passion and love for this country, you will be forever missed.
