Here Are The Fattest Cities in America For 2017

Make America eat sensibly again.

WalletHub has released a list of the fattest cities in America for 2017. And the rankings confirm what we learned in last year’s list of the heaviest states: the South is so heavy, you half expect the weight of everyone there to cause a tectonic plate underneath to snap, causing the entire region to break off from the rest of the country and form a new nation founded on the core principles of Duncan Hines, Pizza Hut and Häagen- Dazs.

The list was created by analyzing 17 factors in three categories: obese population figures, weight-related health problems and healthy environment. Grab a Big Gulp and check it out for yourself below.

America’s 10 Fattest Cities (by metro region)

  1. Jackson, Miss.
  2. Memphis, Tenn.-Miss.-Ark.
  3. Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway, Ark.
  4. McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, Tex.
  5. Shreveport-Bossier City, La.
  6. Chattanooga, Tenn.-Ga.
  7. Mobile, Ala.
  8. Lafayette, Louis.
  9. Winston-Salem, N.C.
  10. Knoxville, Tenn.

Thanks goodness my home town of Philadelphia went down from being in the top 10 to #65. Go EAGLES!

There is nothing like a Philly Cheese steak and a Philly Soft Pretzel, but it looks like either the folks at home are eating healthier or everyone else is eating with more fun.

Don’t forget the check out the full list of cities here.
