John Kasich had planned a press conference at Dulles Airport, but has decided to make his address from Ohio instead.  At 5:00 EST.  Without Ted Cruz in the race there was no way Kasich could have stopped Donald Trump from getting the 1237 delegates needed for a win. There was nothing to gain by remaining in the race and he has something he could lose.  Despite denials, John Kasich would love to be vice president I believe and by staying in, he could have antagonized Trump and that would ruin his chances.

Last night both Kasich and his campaign managers made statements that Kasich would remain right up to the end.  They made those statements before ted Cruz announced he was dropping out.  That caused Kasich to reconsider.  He has decided there is no reason to go on.  Kasich had only won one state and that was Ohio and even then it wasn’t overwhelming.

Donald Trump now has no one to prevent him from racking up well above the 1237 needed.
