Detective Greg Kading, formerly of the Los Angeles Police Dept claims that he has information that P Diddy put out a hit on Shakur, that was supposed to cover Suge Knight , too. He contends that P Diddy offered one million dollars for the deaths of the pair. Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, allegedly hired Crips gang member Duane Keith “Keffe D: Davis to do the killings. However, it was his nephew, Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson, who killed Shakur. Suge Knight was able to get away unharmed.
Kading led a special task force to investigate the shooting of Shakur and later of Diddy pal, Christopher Wallace, A.K.A. “Biggie Smalls”. Smalls was killed in revenge for Shakur according to Kading. This time the price was much lower, only $13,000. Kading says Suge Knight hired Bloods gang member Wardell “Poochie” Fouse to commit the murder. Suge Knight is currently in jail awaiting a hearing on the charge that he ran over two people on purpose. Knight insists he was running from gang members at the time.
There is currently a documentary being made based on a book written by Kading on the shootings. Kading appears to be pretty certain that neither P Diddy or Suge Knight will sue him for defamation. The information and evidence is currently buried and cannot be made public unless Knight or Diddy sues, in which case the evidence could be used in the civil suit. Kading says he is confident that he can make the case stick up in court, especially a civil court, where the evidence requirement is much lower.
The entire affair appears to be the old East coast, West coast rivalry. Shakur and Smalls are credited with inventing hip hop music. There has been a long time feud between the two coasts as who is to dominate the culture.
