Last Photo Of Jose Fernandez Released Just Before Deadly Boating Accident

The official toxicology report from the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department revealed Fernandez was legally drunk and had cocaine in his system when he died in a boat crash last month. The report was released on Saturday. The other two members in the boat, Eduardo Rivera and Emilio Macias, both consumed alcohol before the fatal crash, but neither of them were legally drunk. Rivera, just like Fernandez, had cocaine in system the morning of the accident.

According to 12Up.com:

In a statement released to CBS Miami, American Social Bar and Kitchen management wrote: “Jose Fernandez was a guest at American Social. We would like to extend our sincerest condolences, thoughts and prayers to the families and friends who share in the loss of the three victims involved in this tragic boating accident and to the Miami Marlins organization.” A man snapped a picture of Fernandez outside the restaurant. He took it at around 2:20 that morning. It might be the last picture taken of Fernandez.

And the story has gone from sad to sadder. What a shame, all this lost life for a nights indiscretion, Many just want this to go away, it hurts to many to much. I do not know how Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, it had to obstruct decision making, wouldn’t you think? But toxicology tests were performed as part of the autopsies. The 24-year-old Marlins ace and two other men, Emilio Macias, 27, and Eddy Rivero, 25, crashed along a jetty near Government Cut and flipped the boat, a 32-foot Sea Vee, named the Kaught Looking, which was owned by Fernandez. What do you think?
