Liberal Petition Supporting Bruce Springsteen is a Lesson in Hypocrisy

“BORN TO RUN” OUT ON HIS FANS

Bruce Springsteen has long been known for his far left political leanings, which is his right.  His musical talent is also undeniable.  I remember following my friend Gary into a small bar in Asbury Park after a day at the beach and hearing an unknown band at The Stone Pony.  We stayed longer than we should have but we did miss the heavy traffic we normally encountered in the Garden State Parkway.  Now, there is a petition to support Springsteen’s decision to cancel his concert in North Carolina.  It is steeped in hypocrisy from the left.

“Bruce Springsteen has a right to his deeply held beliefs. He has a right to control his business and refuse to do business with those he disagrees with.”
“He cancelled the concert just days before he was to perform, and did so specifically because he disagreed with the beliefs of the people of North Carolina.”

Additionally, the author of the petition claims, “every business person” is entitled to the right to deny services where and when it violates their beliefs.”

He says that Bruce Springsteen is entitled to follow his strong opinions in cancelling the concert, even after people bought non refundable airline tickets and made hotel reservations to see him.  Kim Davis refuses to sign marriage licenses because she has firm convictions against gay marriage.  And even though there are others in the office who gladly issue and sign those licenses, liberals continue to insist that she give up her right to follow her conscience and not sign the licenses.  They have access, they want capitulation to the liberal ideology.

Hobby Lobby was condemned for refusing to cover abortions, which is against their strict personal beliefs.  That didn’t stop the left from trying to force them to give up their strong moral convictions.  Or, how about Sweet Cakes Bakery, who were put out of business and sued successfully for $130,000 for refusing to go against their deeply held beliefs in refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding.  They did not turn away customers for being gay, in fact, the two lesbians who sued them had purchased goods from them in the past.

The Little Sisters of the Poor, have been forced to give tacit approval for abortion, which is against their deeply held personal beliefs and not a peep out of liberals on that.

For the hell of it, I would love to see a class action suit against Bruce Springsteen for the expenses incurred by ticket holders and the promoters of the concert for their losses.  Personally, I wouldn’t cross the street for a free Springsteen concert and if “Born to Run” comes on the radio, I would switch stations immediately.  But how many liberals would make their same arguments against Springsteen that they made against the others.  I’m betting zero.
