President Barack Obama and his acolytes often like to declare that elections have consequences in response to conservative criticisms of their liberal policies. They are in fact correct, though not in the way they think. A major consequence of Obama’s progressive agenda has been a significant shift by the country back toward the right, most apparent in the 2010 and 2014 midterm elections.
But now a new report from Gallup has revealed just how much of the country has moved towards the right, and it likely has liberal Democrats terrified. Their analysis of the ideological leanings of Americans in the several states has shown that, for the first time since they began tracking it, more states are Republican red than Democrat blue.
In all, the majority of people in 20 states either identify as or lean toward Republicans, while only 14 states identify as or lean toward Democrats.
